Dr. Zachary J. Beck

Dr. Zachary J. Beck is a nationally recognized advancement and strategy leader with deep expertise in philanthropy, organizational growth, and behavioral economics. Over the past decade, he has guided institutions and nonprofit organizations through transformational growth by building high-performing teams, securing significant private and public funding, and advising leaders on long-term strategy.

During his tenure as Associate Vice President for Strategy & Advancement at Sinclair Community College, Dr. Beck grew the foundation’s endowment from $34 million to $51 million while distributing more than $20 million directly to students. These resources supported tens of thousands of students through scholarships, workforce development initiatives, and academic programs. He also served as campaign manager for Issue 10, leading hundreds of volunteers in a successful countywide tax levy that secured $90 million in public support for Sinclair—an effort that was critical to sustaining access and opportunity for students across the Dayton region.

Dr. Beck holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Behavioral Economics, Game Theory, and Risk Tolerance, an MBA focused on Strategy, Innovation, and Change, and a BS in Financial Planning. His academic background underpins his teaching and speaking engagements, where he is a frequent instructor in business strategy, organizational behavior, leadership, ethics, and economics. He has taught at the undergraduate, MBA, and medical school levels, including the Boonshoft School of Medicine, where he integrates research-backed insights with practical leadership development.

Beyond his professional work, Dr. Beck is a licensed pilot, NAUI Master SCUBA diver, fitness enthusiast, and devoted husband and father. He serves on the boards of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and Bridget’s Path and was recognized in Dayton Business Journal’s "40 Under 40."
